*Rondeau from Abdelazer by Purcell Gr.2 - $40
A familiar theme to many thanks to "A Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra". A great concert program piece. The 3/2 meter may be new to some bands, but offers an opportunity to introduce this meter and similarities to 3/4 as is cut time to common time. It should not present a problem.

*MUSETTA'S WALTZ Gr.1.5 - $45
Feature one of your first chair players as a soloist on this famous Puccini melody from La Boheme
There are sixteenth notes in the solo part but not in the band parts. This is a GREAT piece to teach rubato playing and the challenge of continuously watching the conductor.
This is a lyrical as melodies get and easy to put together. You'll pull this one out every few years for its teaching value. Good sight-reading piece for older students.

*TRESOR WALTZ Gr.1.5 - $45
Who can resist a Strauss waltz? The arrangement will sound great in three or faster in one. The melody is fragmented and tossed around the band. The young musicians will need to know when to play out or when to back off. Also a fine opportunity to crescendo rising lines and decrescendo the descending lines. Very classy!

*THE GRIFTERS Gr.3 - $55
Grifter: a person who swindles you by means of deception or fraud. This is a fun and challenging Rag Time Two Step in the Joplin-'The Sting' style. Your students will request playing this one, and it's a great piece for parent listening.

*GINGERBREAD MEN ON PARADE Gr. .5 - $35
Beginning Band - this march uses only the first six notes of the Bb scale. An ideal choice for your first concert.
This will be a Barnhouse Publication for fall 2007.

MARCH THEME Gr.5 - $65
This is an exact transcription of the last 153 measures of Tchaikovsky's III movement from Symphony #6. As stirring a march and melody as you can program. A great opener for top bands.

* MindScapes Gr.1.5 - $40

Have your students select the proper slides and you have a great piece and presentation.

CITY OF FAITH AND BEAUTY Gr.2.5 - $50

Some simple cross-sticking has been added and a little added choreography and you have a showstopper for your spring concert.

* SUM TOTAL OVERTURE Gr.2 - $40
