THREE RING CIRCUS (march): FALL 2009
This spakling march brings all the thrills, sights, sounds and scents of the wonderful world of the circus to life. Modest demands make this bright march well within reach of developing young bands. Step right up, ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages, to the "Three Ring Circus!"
Recorded by the Washington Winds on the 'Walking Frog Records' CD "Mirages"
BARNSTORMERS MARCH: FALL 2008
The golden age of daredevil pilots comes to life in this delightful march. This rousing march begins with a ratchet as the cranking of the propeller. The engine sputters to life and off the listener goes on his free ride into the air, as the music emulates the biplane and all its loops, dives, tricks and stunts. This open-air cockpit ride creates its thrills with musical devices. Parallel chromatics and diminished seventh chords will add new sounds to your band's vocabulary. You'll label this one a real "toe-tapper". It's sure to become a pops concert standard!
Recorded by the Washington Winds on the 'Walking Frog Records' CD "Ghosts in the Attic"
A NICKELODEON MELODRAMA: FALL 2008
Here's a fun-filled and entertaining selection! A heroic fanfare announces the opening curtain of a musical melodrama right out of the golden age of silent film. The hero, the damsel in distress and their perilous journey all set to well-known musical tunes, with your band replacing the theater organ. It's perfect for featuring your principal or other celebrity as narrator! Use a little creativity and allow your students to play the silent actors and even make their own silent movie. Encourage your audience to hiss, boo and cheer during the unfolding story. Easily rehearsed and fun for all! Your audience and students wont stop talking (and laughing) about this entertaining feature.
Recorded by the Washington Winds on the 'Walking Frog Records' CD "Ghost in the Attic"
AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 MEAS.: Fall 2007 Travel around the globe visiting 18 countries each represented by a familiar melody. Have your audience guess the answers on the provided test sheet. Fun! Entertaining! Educational! A sure hit for students and parents.

WHEN THE CAMELS CAKEWALK TO CAIRO: Fall 2006
Every concert can use a humorous moment and this is it! Modal harmonies make it easy to picture some slightly goofy camels travelling across the desert accompanied by busy yet easy percussion parts. Add a percussion section feature and some time in the spotlight for the lower pitched instruments and this novelty tune is complete.

EL TORO ROJO GRANDE: Fall 2004
Trumpets herald the entrance of the matador and the spirit of the arena rises. Every few years there comes such a brave bull that the crowd cries for it to be saved. THE GANDY DANCER: Fall 2002
Call and response (the spoken parts are optional). Railroad crews often used work songs to lighten their load and this serves as the basis for this interesting original piece. Gandy is the brand name of the hammer used to pound spikes. The crew builds the track, the train flies by only to crash and the work begins anew. Rated grade 2 for the repetative bass line emulating the train.
